Cassie Peterson lives in an invisible prison of fear, chained by self-doubt and guarded by a relentless warden—her husband. Derrick’s verbal and physical abuse as well as his alcoholism have left Cassie alienated from her family, without friends, and certain she can’t survive on her own.

After an unexpected police visit, Cassie realizes the survival of her four-year-old daughter, Renee, depends on Cassie’s courage to leave. What she doesn’t plan on is Derrick’s vengeful custody fight.

While walking through the treacherous world of divorce, Cassie is encouraged by her spunky new friend, Missy Langdon, to pursue her love of waterfalls. Cassie finds solace in the waterfalls on the agonizing weekends she’s forced to hand Renee over to Derrick. Meanwhile, unexpected help comes in the form of Brian Sutton, an attorney at the firm where Cassie works—but what price will she ultimately pay for his assistance?

As Derrick’s threatening behavior escalates, Cassie questions her choices. How long will her daughter suffer before the custody case is resolved? Why is she drawn to waterfalls during this chaotic time? And who will stand with her when everything comes crashing down?

My Review

I love twins so seeing a book that was titled with the word “twins” grabbed my attention.

Caleb and Lucie, the two main characters in this plot appeared so real you could empathize and connect with them.

Whenever I think of rangers, I have a mental image of cowboys but this book sharpened the differences for me.

I could identify the themes of family, second chances, love,  forgiveness, community, friendship, kindness to animals and nature (ecosystem).

The author did a great job writing this book although this isn’t my cup of tea on a normal day. I am sure somebody will find this book more interesting than I did.

The book cover is beautiful. I have always love the covers on most Harlequin novels right from when I was a young girl.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author.

My Review

Sweet book!

I love Tucker and Isabella. My two favourite characters.

The book title will pique your curiosity and the book cover
is just too beautiful!

I love Bella’s determination to help people around her.

Tucker’s twins made me smile while reading the book.

All those food mentioned in this book made me hungry. I wanted to taste Claudia’s special apple meal that Tucker boasted of.

Don’t push yourself so hard, Bella. Things will come in God’s timing“. This quote encouraged me while reading the novel.

Themes of love, family, grief, second chances, career and others were explored in this book.

The love Tucker had for his kids warmed my heart. Before this book, I have read novels that were heavy on a mother’s love but this book opened my eyes to see fatherhood from Tucker’s eyes.

The author wrote a captivating great book that deserves 5 stars.

Sometimes, your job is to trust God to show up”. What a nice Christian fiction novel full of faith, love, family and others.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author.

BOOK REVIEW: MOLLY BY SARAH MONZON.

Author: Sarah Monzon

Title: Molly

Publication date: July 2, 2020

Genre: General Fiction

Purchase links: Goodreads Amazon Bookbub

Book Description

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.
But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?
I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

My Review

This book is just incredible! First, it was the book cover and then the characters in the book.

I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed every page.

I love Molly and Doctor Ben. You can’t help expanding your heart to love Chloe and Molly’s friends.

This is the first book by the author I have read and I can’t wait to read more!

I learnt a lot from Dr. Ben about medicine. His adverse reaction to bacteria and infections amused me. I love how careful and hygienic he is.

This is a book that pulls you deeper into its pages.
Such a good book you will love. I highly recommend this book to those searching for a light, fun- filled novel.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are mine.

My Review

A Father’s Promise by Mindy Obenhaus is just too wonderful!

The book cover is so beautiful and attractive.

This is the first book of Mindy Obenhaus  that I am reading and this won’t be the last hopefully.

Welcome to a little town called “Bliss” in Texas. I want to live in such a town where everybody knew each other and they were so thoughtful.

I was swiping each page on my screen to read the next word, sentence or paragraph.

Laurel is a good mum, let’s give her some credit. Wes is a character you really need to read about.
I don’t want to ruin the book by giving you spoilers but you really need to read this book.

It is a Christian fiction book,no doubt about it.

One thing I am thankful about in this book is that, I get to see fatherhood through Wes’s eyes. I am so familiar with the love from mothers but this is the first time I am reading in great depth about fatherhood.

I think I finally caught the story behind the book title ” A Father’s Promise”.

I recommend this book to lovers of children especially young parents or parents generally. You will learn a lot from this plot. I promise.

A family is complete when there is a loving father and a caring mother together in a home.

This book needs 7 stars rating please. I read it in one sitting.

I received a complimentary copy of this book  from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Opinions expressed in this review are mine.

My Review

Never an Amish Bride by Ophelia London is an Amish book that explores various topics woven with human reality despite it being fictional.

I am so happy whenever I pick up a Christian Fiction Amish Book. I get ready for an adventure within the pages.

The book cover is so beautiful and the title will make you curious.

Themes of family, community support, sumptuous meals, forgiveness and many more were navigated in this book.

I like Esther Miller and Lucas Brenneman. I was always watching out for their scenes while reading the book.

I love the conversation between Esther and her mamm. Her mother said and I quote “All things are to be done for the praise of Gott. Everything in life is to worship Him”. I love a healthy mother to daughter relationship and Esther and her mother had it.

The Amish community here are quite religious, I must say. Humility is emphasized greatly.

I admire the fact that the Amish brides in this story sew their own wedding dresses  by themselves. That’s something I never thought I could do by myself on my own without modern gadgets despite not being an Amish woman.

There are lessons to glean from this story.  I enjoyed this book while eating toasted bread on a warm day. The food mentioned in the book made me grab my toaster and made some toasts and a homemade juice and I imagined I was living in an Amish community.

Esther is a good soap maker. I admire the names of the fragrances she used in making her soap. I appreciate her industrious spirit.

Lucas and Esther both have stories you may need to discover in this book.
I laughed at Esther and Lucas love for little goats (kids).

This is a good Christian fiction book with themes pointing to God.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
